Upon my visit to Mesmerize, I was captivated the most by the visual of the fast-forwarding alarm clock by the colorful bed. The unrealistic nature of both, added with the ethereal lighting, enhanced the dreamy concept of the exhibit. In this world detached from reality, time passed both slowly and quickly — the background music was used to pacify the mind and the heart, pulling anxiety away from the rush of time. However, certain elements left me longing for more resolution, particularly the room with a beanbag. The room, contrasting to the other room with a bed, felt rather simplistic, with less colorful painting of the surrounding. Unlike the rest of the exhibit, it felt like a wild awakening moment, surrounded by cool-toned walls with sharp edges.
