Mind over mezmerise

"I felt a cleaving in my mind—
As if my brain had split—
I tried to match it—Seam by Seam—
But could not make them fit."- Emilee Dickson

Walking through the immersive experience, there only seemed to be a burst of imagination and exploration. It felt as if someone took a meat cleaver, opened my skull, and instead of allowing all my thoughts to flow out, added to them exponentially. Ideas began to form, and trains of thought ran far beyond their station. Like Dickinson, I tried to place our project piece by piece—a maze forming in my mind—but couldn’t make it fit. I felt as if everyone could find a single piece they connected with, something that could leave a lasting memory, but I was stuck following the flow of the story, the visuals, and the thecnicality. The colossal, crystal and its mysteries, the dermatologist, and the violet moon (rebels for a cause!)—each element stood independently yet intertwined together into a greater whole.

I found myself captivated not just by the narrative and visuals but by the technical mastery that made the experience possible. I asked lots of technical questions, like, “How were you able to measure the dimensions perfectly for the crystal without having to redo it? And what was your budget?” The precision and careful planning behind every detail fascinated me. It’s easy to get swept up in the creative process, but seeing how art, engineering, and logistics came together to shape this dream world was just as eye-opening.

What struck me most was how every choice—every angle, material, and even the different hues of light in each section of the experience blew me away. Their team’s ability to balance creative freedom with structured planning was inspiring, and it made me reflect on our approach to the heat maze, and our team. Are we allowing ourselves enough space to explore without the need to make everything fit immediately? How do I find the balance between my vision and the practicality.

I think this is a learning process, and I am so excited to continue with this journey. Each new layer of understanding adds depth to my experience, allowing me to see beyond the surface and challenge my creative limitations.
